Michael est engagé pour protéger le Dr Klaus Bergstrom et sa nièce Christina. Le Dr Bergstrom est reconnu mondialement pour ses recherches sur la technologie du laser appliquée au satellite. Il est en ville pour participer à un symposium international sur les applications pacifiques de cette technologie. Devon reçoit une nouvelle préoccupante : Garthe Knight s'est évadé de prison avec l'aide de Goliath. Aidé d'Adrienne Margot, qui a reconstitué Goliath en le rendant invulnérable, Garthe crée un clone du Dr Bergstrom grâce à la chirurgie plastique.
